If Not Now, When? If Not You, Who?

Hope is not a plan, and waiting for the right moment is the perfect combination to keep us stuck, never moving that idea or dream forward. We often look to others to take action (“someone should really do something!”) or for permission and validation.

Here’s the tea - your life up to this exact moment (this exact one!) has given you everything you need to take action on that idea, that dream, that goal. The first step doesn’t have to be perfect and it’s often wobbly, but it has to be yours.

As you start to walk on the way, the way appears. -Rumi

We hesitate because we believe we need more—more knowledge, more confidence, more certainty. But action is what creates those things. The path won’t reveal itself all at once. It unfolds step by step, shaped by our willingness to move forward despite the unknown. And as you take the best next step after best next step, the right people will show up to support you. Your actions create momentum that amplifies your impact.

Being open to possibility, embracing discomfort, and trusting that our past experiences have equipped us with all that we need allows for opportunities greater than we imagined. The moment you decide to start, you shift from waiting to creating, and in that space, transformation - magic - begins.

This week, we meet Kate Kennedy, an educator, advocate, and changemaker who founded a school for children experiencing homelessness in Atlanta. Kate shares her journey from passion to action, the challenges and triumphs of launching a school for vulnerable children, and why she believes education is the key to breaking cycles of poverty. We also explore how her studies in religion, public life, and creative writing shape her work, and how faith and storytelling intersect in her life. Kate’s story is a testament to the power of compassion, resilience, and taking that first step. I hope you listen and enjoy our conversation as much as I did!

xoxo,

Meghan
